A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA HONORING BOB FINNELL AS AN OUT-
STANDING PUBLIC SERVANT AND CITIZEN OF ORANGE
COUNTY.
WHEREAS, Robert F. "Bob" Finnell has established a
record of dedicated and self-less public service to the citi-
zens of Orange County which stands as a model for elected of-
ficials in every community; and
WHEREAS, Bob Finnell, as former Mayor and Councilman
of our sister city of Placentia, through his dynamic and ino-
vative efforts was instrumental in achieving the proud and
treasured distinction of having Placentia named the first All
American City in Orange County in 1972; and
WHEREAS, Bob Finnell, through leadership, service on
countless boards and committees engaged in intergovernmental
cooperation, including the League of California Cities, Sou-
thern California Association of Governments and Intergovern-
mental Coordinating Council of Orange County, repeatedly de-
monstrated his unique talents as an executive and problem
solver; and
WHEREAS, Bob Finnell has been especially honored for
his creative work on the Dial-Ur-Mayor and Public Agencies
Data Systems programs which have had an important impact on
so many Orange County citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana, on behalf of all the citizens of the
City, is priviliged to declare Bob Finnell an HONORARY CITIZEN
of the City of Santa Ana in grateful recognition of the contri-
butions his service has made to the life of our community, and
expresses the confidence that the example his public career and
personal life will continue to inspire those whose privilege it
is to be servants of the people.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the ~Oth day of
May , 1974.
