A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA EXPRESSING ITS DESIRE TO DEVELOP
A GEO-CODED DATA BASE IN COOPERATION WITH
CERTAIN CITIES AND TO ACQUIRE CERTAIN FEDERAL
FUNDS THEREFOR.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to develop
a Gee-Coded Data Base; and
WHEREAS, the Cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove and
Huntington Beach have tentatively indicated a desire to
participate in the development of such a system; and
WHEREAS, the cooperative development of such a
system will promote efficiency by eliminating duplication
of effo~t; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and Urban
Development of the United States Government has, under the
Comprehensive Planning Assistance Program, earmarked ~75,000
grant for the purpose of developing such a system; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and U~ban
Development will make the ~75,000 grant available to the
Cities of Anaheim, Santa Ana, Garden G~ove and Huntington
Beach on a two-thirds -- one-third basis; and
WHEREAS, the Cities may make in-kind contributions
of staff and other city ~esou~ces as thsi~ one-third contri-
bution, Santa Ana's share is estimated at ~10,587; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana ia authorized to
contract with other agencies, and to enter 3oint Power
Agreements with other public agencies pursuant to Section
6500 et seq of the Government Code of the State of California;
and
WHEREAS, the Department of Housing and U~ban
Development desires one of the fou~ cities above-mentioned
to act as the "lead" agency in the implementation of this
p~og~am and submit the formal application for the g~ant
hereinabove described; and
WHEREAS, the cooperative development of Management
Information System, known as a Gee-Coded Data Base is mutually
beneficial to the Cities of Anaheim, Santa Ana, Garden Grove
and Huntington Beach, and in the best interest of the City of
Santa Ans.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana does hereby express its desire and
willingness to participate in the development of the Gee-Coded
Data Base with the Cities of Anaheim, Garden Grove and
Huntington Beach, and with the City of Anaheim acting as
project manager.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Santa Ana
does hereby tentatively agree to participate in the development
of the Geo-Coded Data Base.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana does hereby indicate its desire to procure
the ~75,000 grant for the development of the Geo-Coded Data
Base and its willingness to contribute its portion of the
Cities' one-third ehare in in-kind servicee.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana does hereby tentatively agree to enter into
a joint powers agreement with the Cities of Anaheim, Garden
Grove and Huntington Beach in order to develop the Geo-Coded
Data Base and to apply for the ~75,000 grant for that purpoee
for the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
