A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA PROCLAIMING THE MONTH
OF OCTOBER AS UNITED WAY MONTH
WHEREAS, the UNITED WAY is the largest single fund raising
campaign in our community; and
WHEREAS, funds raised by UNITED WAY support seventy-five
separate health, welfare and youth serving agencies which represent
approximately ninety percent of the voluntary services in our area; and
WHEREAS, UNITED WAY volunteers perform the stewardship
of funds collected, assuring a balanced network of services for our com-
munity; and
WHEREAS, UNITED WAY is the vehicle through which citizens
can express their concern for their fellowman; and
WHEREAS, UNITED WAY is people helping people - working to-
gether to make our community a better place by providing vital human care
services to all who need them.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of
the City of Santa Aha, on behalf of all the citizens of the City, does hereby
proclaim the month of October 1, 1974 to October 31, 1974 as
"UNITED WAY MONTH"
and urges the citizens of the City of Santa Ana to support this worthy cause.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its Adjourned Regular Meeting held on the 9th day of September, 1974.
