A SPECIAL RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA COMMENDING COUNCILMAN
AND FORMER MAYOR LORIN GRISET.
WHEREAS, Lorin Griset has served the City of Santa
Ana as Mayor for a period of four years and as Councilman
for a period of four years; and
WHEREAS, Councilman and former Mayor Lorin Griset's
term of office was characterized by his vigorous personal
effort on behalf of the City of Santa Ana; the accomplish-
ments and goals realized during his tenure include:
-- Initiation of Community Redevelopment;
Early support of the Human Relations
Commission;
-- Advocation of the Affirmative Action
Program;
Development and construction of the
State Building and Federal Building
within the Santa Ana Civic Center;
Promotion of Regional affiliations
for intergovernmental association
and cooperation;
Advancement of the concept of manpower
planning in Santa Ana; and
Institution of the "Man in Washington"
Program to bring Federal Legislative
information and advantages to Santa
Ana.
WHEREAS, Lorin Griset, as Mayor, always maintained
an open forum for the expression of new ideas involving Muni-
cipal activity in the City of Santa Ana; and
WHEREAS, during his exemplary and dynamic tenure, the
City of Santa Ana has again surged forward in development and
assessed valuation while maintaining its high level of effi-
ciency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana, for itself and for those whom it
represents, expresses appreciation to Lorin Griset for his
unselfish service to his fellow citizens, and for the intan-
gible as well as the tangible results of his countless en-
deavors.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held the 17th day of March,
1975.
