HomeMy WebLinkAbout75-040FIM:nr May 1, 1975 RESOLUTION NO. 75-40 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA COMMENDING COMPUTER ELECTION SYSTEMS FOR SERVICES TO THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF APRIL 1, 1975 WHEREAS, Computer Election Systems provided the voters of the City of Santa Ana the opportunity to use the "Voto- matic," a punch card method of electronic voting, at the Municipal Election held on April 1, 1975, for a minimal fee; and WHEREAS, Computer Election Systems' servioes included a minicomputer, especially designed to process punch card elec- tion ballots, precinct office training, programming logistics assistance, voter education programs as well as outstanding personal attention to detailed coordination of the countless election operations; and WHEREAS, precinct survey established an overwhelming preference for the "Votomatic" method by all Santa Ana voters by the precinct officers themselves; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Santa Ana highly commends Computer Election Systems for the efficiency, speed and accuracy of the "Votomatic" system, and for its public service awareness in making this responsive system availabe to the voters of Santa Ana. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council suggests to the Board of Supervisors of Orange County that it give serious consideration to the "Votomatic" System for Countywide implemen- tation so that all of the voters of Orange County may enjoy its many benefits.
