A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION
BY THE CITY MANAGER AND ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER FOR
A COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING ASSISTANCE GRANT AND
STATING THAT THE CITY WILL PROVIDE THE REQUIRED
LOCAL SHARE.
WHEREAS, Section 701 of the Housing Act of 1954, as amended,
authorizes the making by the United States of America, through its
Department of Housing and Urban Development, of Comprehensive Planning
Assistance Grants to states and local public bodies to assist in the
preparation of a Community Plan Work Program, including an analysis of
existing housing conditions, identification of the needs, problems and
opportunities for housing, and implementation of a program for housing
needs; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana desires
that the City prepare such a Housing Work Program and obtain federal
assistance in the preparation thereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That an application be made
to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for a grant in the
amount authorized by Section 701 of the Housing Act of 1954, as amended,
which amount is presently estimated to be $40,000, and that the City
of Santa Ana will provide the balance of the cost as required by the
said Act, which amount is presently estimated to be $20,000, either in
the form of in-kind services or from funds available to the City, or
a combination of both.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the City Manager is hereby
authorized and directed to file such application with the Department
of Housing and Urban Development, to provide additional information
and to execute and furnish such documents on behalf of the City of
Santa Ana as may be required by the Department, to execute such con-
tracts as are required by said Department, and to act as the authorized
correspondent for the City of Santa Ana.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 5th day of May
1975.
