A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COU~)~'
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA ESTABLISHING
ANNUAL DOG LICENSE FEES
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana performs a special licensing
service for dogs over the age of four (4) months owned, kept,
harbored in the custody of, or under the control of any person
within the City excepting any dog while kept in a duly licensed
commercial kennel and any seeing-eye dog trained to assist blind
persons while such dog is actually being kept and used by a blind
person for the purpose of aid in going from place to place; and
WHEREAS, the cost of providing animal control services in the
City to insure the public safety, health, and welfare is increas-
ing each year; and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange Animal Shelter provides services
to the City by contract, the cost of which has been increased period-
ically; and
WHEREAS, in the interests of fairness and equity, it is the
intent of the City Council to effect a self-supporting animal control
operation insofar as may be possible;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the following annual fees
for dog licenses shall apply effective on the 1st day of July, 1975:
Animal Type Unit
Annual License Fee
Female dog (un-neutered) Each $10.00
Female dog (neutered) Each 5.00
Male dog (un-neutered) Each 10.00
Male dog (neutered) Each 5.00
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Santa
Ana at its regular meeting held on the 2nd day of June, 1975.
