RESOLUTION NO. 75-106
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TttE
CITY OF SANTA ANA ORDERING TIlE VACATION
OF AN EAST-WEST ALLEY BETWEEN FOURTH
AND FIFTH STP~EETS AND FP~NCtt AND MORTImeR
STREETS
WHEREAS, on recommendation of the Department of
Public Works and the Planning Commission of the City of Santa
Ana, Resolution No. 75-82 was adopted giving notice of in-
tention to vacate an east-west alley between Fourth and
Fifth Streets and French and Mortimer Streets; and
WHEREAS, on August 4, 1975, a public hearing was
duly held on vacation of said street on posted notice and
the publication of said Resolution ~Jo. 75-82.
WttEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 5079
of the Public Resources Code of the State of California, this
Council does hereby find and determine that neither said
portion(s) of said street nor parts thereof is useful as bi-
cycle paths or routes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds that the abovementioned
alley is unnecessary for present or prospective street purposes
and does hereby make its order abandoning and vacating for
street purposes that certain right of way located in the
City of Santa Ana, County of Orange, State of California,
described as follows:
Those portions of Lots 1 thru 10 in Block 4
of Fruits' Addition to Santa Ana, as shown
on a Map recorded in Book 9, page 91 of
Miscellaneous Records of Los Angeles County,
California, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the West line of said
Lot 1 distant Southerly thereon 7.00 feet from
the Northwest corner thereof; thence Easterly
parallel with the North line of said Lot 1 a
distance of 50.00 feet to the East line thereof;
thence Southerly thereon 1.00 foot; thence
Easterly parallel with the North lines of said
Lots 2 through 5 a distance of 200.00 feet to
the East line of said Lot 5; thence Northerly
along the East lines of said Lots 5 and 6 a
distance of 12.00 feet; thence Westerly parallel
with the South lines of said Lots 6 through 10
to a distance of 250.00 feet to the West line
of said Lot 10; thence Southerly along the West
lines of said Lots 1 and 10 a distance of 11.00
feet to the point of beginning.
Reserving an easement over the above-described
land to construct, place, operate, inspect,
maintain, repair, replace, remove, and enlarge
lines of pipe and other structures, equipment and
fixtures for the operation of gas lines as the
Southern Counties Gas Company may, from time to
time require.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Aha at its regular meeting held on the 4th day
of August , 1975.
