HomeMy WebLinkAbout75-120nm RESOLUTION NO. 75-120 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DESIGNATING SEPTEMBER 21-27, 1975, AS SANTA ANA BICENTENNIAL WEEK. ALL CHURCHES, CLUBS, SCHOOLS AND BUSINESSES IN THE CITY WILL BE INVITED TO PLAN ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS BASED ON THE BICENTENNIAL THEME WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has been designated an official~Bicentennial Community by the American Revolution Bicen- tennial Administration in Washington, D. C.; and WHEREAS, Santa Ana citizens should be made more aware of the Bicentennial celebration and given opportunities to parti- cipate in Bicentennial activities early in the Bicentennial year; and WHEREAS, Santa Ana Bicentennial Week will begin with Bicentennial Church Day on September 21 during which churches will be encouraged to use historical sermons, prayers and music, this to commemorate the religious motivation of those who founded America; and WHEREAS, during Bicentennial Week, all schools in Santa Ana will be encouraged to have patriotic programs, assemblies and activities to start the school year with a Bicentennial em- phasis; and WHEREAS, all clubs, businesses be encouraged to have patriotic programs, and window displays during the week; and and organizations will luncheons, activities WHEREAS, the Santa Ana Bicentennial Committee will be the official advisory and coordinating organization whose duties will include sending letters and appropriate publicity releases to clubs, schools, and organizations announcing the week's pur- pose and activities; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby proclaims the week of September 21 through 27, 1975, as Santa Ana Bicentennial Week.
