RESOLUTION NO. 75-126
A RESOLUTION OF TttE CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE
CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING MAP AND DE-
CLARING INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION
OF WASHINGTON AVENUE ADJACENT TO TtIE WEST
SIDE OF THE SANCTA A~A FREEWAY RIGHT OF WAY
AND RESERVING AN EASEMENT FOR UTILITY
PURPOSES
~{EREAS, the Department of Public Works and the
Planning Commission have recommended a public hearing be set
on the question of said vacation, a request for the vacation
of a portion of Washington Avenue adjacent to the west side of
the Santa Ana Freeway right of way; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has deemed
it essential to the health, safety and welfare that an easement
be retained over said right of way for the Southern California
Edison Company for utility purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of
Santa Ana hereby approves the map attached hereto and orders
the same filed with the original of this resolution in the
office of the Clerk of the Council, and reference is hereby
made to said map for the exterior boundaries for said right
of way proposed to be abandoned.
The City Council declares its intention to proceed
under the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of 1941 (~8300-
8374 of the California Streets and Highways Code) to abandon
a portion of Washington Avenue adjacent to the west side of
the Santa Ana Freeway right of way in the City of Santa Ana
County of Orange, State of California, as described in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein.
BE IT FURTItER RESOLVED that the public convenience
and necessity require the reservation of an exclusive permanent
easement over a portion of said right of way by the Southern
California Edison Company for utility purposes which said
portion is also described in Exhibit "A".
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that October 6 , 1975,
at the hour of 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 22 Civic
Center Plaza, Santa Ana, California, is hereby fixed as the
hour and the place for hearing all persons interested in or
objecting to said proposed abandonment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Council
of the City of Santa Ana is hereby ordered to publish this
resolution one time in The Register within fifteen (15) days
after the date of adoption of this resolution and the Director
of Public Works is ordered to post notices of street vacation
conspicuously along the line of said street, stating the
passage of this resolution of intention to vacate, and the
time and place of hearing thereon. Said notices shall be
posted not more than 300' apart and at least three (3) such
notices shall be posted. Both publication and posting shall
be completed at least ten (10) days before the date of the
hearing.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the
2nd day of September , 1975.

..LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
A strip of land, being a portion of the land allotted toMaria Ygnac~a Alvarado
de Morano in Decree of partition of Rancho Santiago de Santa Aha, recorded in
Book "B" of Judgments of the 17th Judicial District Court, Los Angeles County,
California, being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the City Monument on the center line of Washington Avenue having
a bearing of South 56° 29' 57" East as shown on a map filed in Book 67 Page 13
of Parcel Maps, County of Orange, California, said City Monument being South
33° 30' 03" West 20.52 feet from the center line of the cul-de-sac; thence running
South 56° 29' 57" East 94.54 feet; thence South 0° 53' 55" East 30.30 feet to the
true point of beginning; thence South 56° 29' 57" East 86.04 feet; thence South
0° 53' 55" East 12.12 feet; thence North 56° 29' 57" West 9.82 feet; thence North
00 53' 55" West 8.72 feet; thence South 89° Gl' 53" West 12.72 feet; thence North
56° 29' 57" West 60.81 feet; thence North 0° 53' 55" West 12.12 feet to the true
point of beginning.
Subject to all covenants, conditions, restrictions, reservations, easements, and
