RESOLUTION NO. 75457
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS WITH THE CALIFOP~IA
HIGHWAY PATROL TO PROVIDE TRAINING FOR SANTA
ANA POLICE TRAFFIC OFFICERS
%~{EREAS, the Santa Ana Police Department has expanded
its Traffic Program in order to improve law enforcement within
the City; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has investigated the
availability of approved officer training programs and has re-
commended contracting with the California Highway Patrol at
Sacramento for such training; and
WHEREAS, the California Highway Patrol has submitted
an Accident Investigation Training Agreement requiring the approval
of the City before Santa Ana police officers may attend the
California Highway Patrol Instruction.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana hereby approves the participation of the
Santa Ana Police Department in the Accident Investigation Training
Program offered by the California Highway Patrol and authorizes
the City Manager to execute, from time to time during fiscal
year 1975-76, accident investigation training agreements in
substantially the form of the California Highway Patrol's
"Agreement ~92-75/76", a copy of which is on file in the office
of the Clerk of the Council, so long as the total cost of each
such agreement shall not exceed two thousand dollars ($2,000).
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the
15th day of September , 1975.
