RESOLUTION NO. 75-177
A RESOLUTION OF TtIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING AN AGREE-
MENT WIT}{ THE OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE
PLANNING AND THE CALIFOP~IA COUNCIL
CRIMINAL JUSTICE FOR A MAJOR DIVERSION
PREVENTION PROGRAM
~}EREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to undertake
a certain project designated as the Major Diversion Prevention
Program and to submit an application for a grant under Section
301(b) of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of
1968, Public Law 90-351, as amended by Public Law 91-644, and
seeks funding in part from monies made available pursuant to
the Crime Control Act of 1973, Public Law 93-83, 87 Stats. 197,
administered by the Office of Criminal Justice Planning (here-
inafter referred to as OCJP) for the California Council on
Criminal Justice; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana that the Chief of Police of the City
of Santa Aha is authorized, on its behalf, to submit said
application for Grant for Law Enforcement Purposes to OCJP
and is authorized to execute on behalf of the City of Santa
Ana a Grant Award Contract for law enforcement purposes, a
copy of which is on file with the City Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the applicant agrees to
provide all matching funds required for said project, including
any extensions or amendments thereof, under the Crime Control
Act of 1973, and the Rules and Regulations of OCJP and the Law
Enforcement Assistance Administration and that cash will be
appropriated as required thereby.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received
hereunder shall not be used to supplant on-going law enforcement
expenditures.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on
15th day of December , 1975.
