RESOLUTION NO. 76- 15
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA ADOPTING AN AMENDMENT
TO THE GENERAL PLAN DELETING THE SENIOR
CITIZENS HOUSING SITE FROM THE MAP
LABELED "OPEN SPACE PLAN, AN ELEMENT OF
THE GENERAL PLAN" AND REDESIGNATING SAID
SITE ON THE LAND USE MAP OF THE GENERAL
PLAN AS "HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL".
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana as follows:
1. That that portion of the General Plan consisting
of the map labeled "Open Space Plan, an element of the General
Plan" is hereby amended by deleting therefrom the Open Space
("O") designation of that certain parcel known as the Senior
Citizens Housing Site and also known as the SANTA ANA TOWERS
SITE which is located between First, Ross and Birch Streets and
the north line of that which was formerly Second Street and that
said parcel is hereby resignated on the Land Use Map of the
General Plan of the City of Santa Ana as "High Density Residential."
2. That aforesaid amendment is based on the request
of the Executive Director of the Community Redevelopment Agency
of the City of Santa Aha, on studies pertaining thereto con-
ducted by the Planning Department in conjunction with the
Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Ana and on
the recommendation of the Planning Commission which approved
said amendment at its January 12, 1976 regular meeting.
3. That aforesaid amendment is not contrary to the
spirit and intent of the General Plan of the city of Santa Ana.
4. That aforesaid amendment is in the public interest
and the general welfare.
5. That said amendment will not be detrimental to
the public welfare or injurious to the property or improvements
in the immediate vicinity of aforesaid parcel.
6. That the Final Environmental Impact Report for the
SANTA ANA TOWERS project was adopted by the Community Redevelop-
ment Agency of the city of Santa Ana on December 15, 1975 as the
lead agency for purposes of the aforesaid general plan amendment
and that the city Council, by motion, duly certified that the
information contained therein was reviewed and considered prior
to adoption of this resolution.
7. That a public hearing on aforesaid amendment was
duly noticed and held by the City Council on January 19, 1976
pursuant to Section 27-17 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code.
8. That the Planning Director is hereby instructed
to file with the Orange County Clerk a final notice of determin-
ation of our approval of this general plan amendment.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the 19th day of
January, 1976.
