RESOLUTION NO. 76-24
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF S~TA ANA AUTHORIZING THE
CHIEF OF POLICE TO SUBMIT A THIRD YEAR
APPLICATION FOR A GRANT FROM THE OFFICE
OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANNING AND THE
CALIFORNIA COUNCIL ON CRIMINAL JUSTICE
FOR THE ORANGE COUNTY BURGLARY PREVENTION
INDEX PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to continue to
undertake a certain project designated as the Orange County
Burglary Prevention Index to be funded for the third year in
part ~from funds made available under Section 301(b) of the
Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, Public
Law 90-351, as amended by Public Law 91-644, and seeks funding
in part from monies made available pursuant to the Crime Control
Act of 1973, Public Law 93-83, administered by the Office of
Criminal Justice Planning (hereinafter referred to as OCJP) for
the California Council on Criminal Justice.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana that the Chief of Police of the City of Santa
Ana, is authorized on its behalf, to submit said application
for Grant for Law Enforcement Purposes to OCJP and is authorized
to execute on behalf of the City of Santa Ana the attached
Grant Award for law enforcement purposes, a copy of which is
on file with the City Clerk.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the applicant agrees to provide
all matching funds required for said projects (including any
extensions or amendment thereof) under the Crime Control Act
and the Rules and Regulations of OCJP and the Law Enforcement
Assistance Administration (LEAA) and that cash will be appro-
priated as required thereby.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that grant funds received hereunder
shall not be used to supplant on-going law enforcement expen-
ditures.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana at its regular meeting held on the
znd day of February , 1976..
