HomeMy WebLinkAbout77-146 RESOLUTION NO. 77-146 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA HONORING RONALD E. WOLFORD WHEREAS, RON WOLFORD is leaving City service as Assistant City Manager for Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, RON WOLFORD began his service to Santa Ana as Assistant Director of Public Works in 1961; and WHEREAS, RON WOLFORD was appointed to Director of Public Works in 1964; and WHEREAS, RON WOLFORD received appointment to the position of Assistant City Manager in 1976; and WHEREAS, RON WOLFORD has consistently demonstrated a high level of professionalism in all his service to the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, RON WOLFORD has exhibited great expertise as a civil Engineer, City Engineer, Assistant Director of Public Works, Director of Public Works, and Assistant City Manager; and WHEREAS, RON WOLFORD has held the professional offices of First Vice President of the Public Works Officers Department for the League of California Cities, President of the Orange County Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers, President of the City Engineers Association of Orange County and Policy Advisory Committee Member for the Orange County Transportation Commission; and WHEREAS, RON WOLFORD has consistently assisted the City of Santa Ana in matters of planning, capital programming, budget- ing, engineering, General Plan development, City admin- istration, employee negotiations, transportation, community development, and much more; and WHEREAS, RON WOLFORD has gained the confidence of the City Council and City Administration; and WHEREAS, RON WOLFORD has resigned his post as Assistant City Manager to enter the world of professional consultant January 1978; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA that they unanimously resent RON WOLFORD gaining much experience at the City of Santa Ana, constantly smiling and reminding those around him that he is leaving, and suddenly acquiring a sense of humor, avoiding trash discussions, laughing at employee grievances, singing in his office and generally appear- ing happy as he approaches his final City service date to enter the world of private enterprise and get rich, leaving behind him Civic Center parking problems for the City Council, Agenda changes and punctuation prob- lems on Council reports; community radicals and organi- zers, long hours at Council meetings, Planning Commis- sion hearings and other advisory boards and commissions, lonely administrators, paranoid consultants and much, much more; BE IT FURTHBR RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL genuinely wishes to congratulate, commend and extol RON WOLFORD's service to the City of Santa Ana, helping to make it a better place to live and improving the quality of life for the 182,000 people of Santa Ana, and further wishes him good fortune in the future, for he will be sincerely missed.
