houses on each lot on property situated at 529 East Adams Street, consisting of
two lots, in R-1 District, subject to conditions.

of the Planning Commtssion was approved and Variance Application No. 1043 of Marvin
M. and Elizabeth Reil Rohrs granted to permit the use of existing single-family
house for office and studio of an interior decorator, to demolish the existing
garage and shed at rear of the property, and to blacktop the entire area at rear
of the house, on property situated at ll7 West Fifteenth Street, in R-3 District,
subject to conditions of the Planning Commission and the additional condition that
a bond be posted, the amount to be estimated by the Department of Public Works,
guaranteeing the completion of the blacktopping within a period of three months.

On motion of Counc~!man Gould, Seconded by Hubbard and carried, the communication
from the Pl~n~ing Commission recommending approval of proposed ~exation of property
consisting of approximatel~ 57.3 acres, situated on the south side of Garden Grove
Boulevard, west of the Santa Ama River, and designated "Memory T.ane . Santa Aha
River Southwest Annex", was received and filed.
It was moved by Couneflm~ Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, that the rec~n-

received, filed and the organization notified that the facilities are no longer
available to them as the County has discontinued paying the rental fee.

was authorized to advertise for bids on Fire Alarm Cable, Specification 634-9, as
follows: 14,300 ft. of 6 twisted pairs of ~16 and 3 solid #12 conductors, and
10,600 ft. of 2 twisted pairs of ~16 and 2 solid ~12 conductors; bids to be opened
December 1,
On motion of Councf!m-~ Hubbard, seconded by Gould and carried, the Cashier's check
of the Pacific Southwest Realty Company, in the s~ of $1300.00, filed in lieu of
bond to guarantee street ~ sidewalk improvements on one lot ~ocated at the south-
east corner of Bristol Street and Delhi Road, within the boundaries of Record of
Survey Map 224, was ordered released and improvements accepted as completed.

mendation of the Manager dated October 17, 1958, for salary step increases for one
employee effective October l, 1958, and for three employees effective November l,
1958, was appxl~w~d.
It was moved by Councilman Hubbard, seconded by Hall and carried, that f~a~e Order
No. 4 (revised) in the sma of $5989.90 and ~a~e Order No. 5 in the sma of $3703.00,
be approved~ for the construction of the Library.
The request of +.h~- Director of Public Works was read reference to clerical error
in the extensions of contract bid of Paul R. Gardner Corporation, on Assessment
District No. 201, South Main Street Lighting District. It was moved by Counctlm~
Hubbard, seconded by Ball and carried, that the Minutes of the Council meeting of
July 2_l, 1958, be --~nded to show the total contract of Paul Gardner Corporation~
as $40,862.7B instead of $40,874.74.

On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Hubbard and carried, a Certificate of
Public Convenience and Necessity was approved for ~illiam F. Acker, dba Acker
Ambulance Service, Associated Ambulance Service, 1907 North M~in Street, for the
operation of three ambulances. On motion of Counc~lm~n Gould, seconded by Hubbard
and carried, action was continued until November 17, 1958 on the application of
Edith M. Paine, dba American Ambulance Service, ~20 South Flower Street, Orange.
