A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE
TO SUBMIT APPLICATION FOR GRANT FOR SANTA ANA
COMMUNITY ORIENTED COMPREHENSIVE CRIME
PREVENTION PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to undertake a certain
project designated "Santa Ana Community Oriented Comprehensive
Crime Prevention Program" to be funded in part from funds made
available through the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of
1968, PL 90-351, as amended, (hereafter referred to as the Crime
Control Act) administered by the Law Enforcement Assistance Admin-
istration (hereafter referred to as LEAA).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana:
That the Chief of Police is authorized to execute on be-
half of the City of Santa Ana, and submit to LEAA that
certain "Application for Federal Assistance (Non-Con-
struction Program) with Attached LEAA Form 4000/3," iden-
tified as the Santa Ana Community Oriented Comprehensive
Crime Prevention Program and dated March 3, 1979, a copy
of which is on file with the City Clerk, and any grant
award that may result therefrom.
That the City of Santa Ana agrees to provide all matching
funds required for said project (including any extension
or amendment thereof) under the Crime Control Act and the
rules and regulations of the Law Enforcement Assistance
Administration and that cash will be appropriated as
required thereby.
That grant funds received hereunder shall not be used to
supplant law enforcement expenditures controlled by this
body.
