HomeMy WebLinkAbout80-082RESOLUTION NO. 80-82 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANAAMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 58-281 TO REDUCE THE SALARY LEVEL ASSIGNED TO THE CLASS OF SURVEY SUPERVISOR AND TO ADD A NEW CLASS TITLE OF SURVEY SUPERVISOR II ON A LIMITED-TERM BASIS WHEREAS, on November 3, 1958, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. 58-281, revising and re-establishing the Basic Compensation Plan for all offi- cers and employees of the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Aha requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position classi- fication and pay plan subject to Civil Service Rules and Regulations and the approval of the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended said Resolution; and WHEREAS, it is desired to effect an immediate reduction in the salary level assigned to the existing class of Survey Supervisor prior to commencing recruitment of a replacement for the present incumbent of said class who is retiring effective August 5, 1980; and WHEREAS, it is also desired to simultaneously establish a new limited-term class for the purpose of reassigning said retiring employee in order to preserve the current and scheduled pay rates due him during the period up to and including his actual retirement date. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana: 1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 58-281, as amended, is hereby further amended by: a. Adding, in proper alphabetical sequence, the new class title of SURVEY SUPERVISOR II at the same current and scheduled pay rates currently assigned to the existing class of Survey Supervisor, to wit: $1866-$2268, effective May 1, 1980 and $1997-$2427, effective July 1, 1980. b. Designating said new class as "Terminal" by adding the parenthetical identifier (T) next to following the class title. c. Reducing by 5.2% the level of compensation for the existing class of SURVEY SUPERVISOR by changing the salary rate ranges assigned to the class as next hereinafter indicated: Effective Dates Two-Year Salary Adjustment Schedule Current Propose~ May 1, 1980 July 1, 1980 449 ($1866-$2268) 463 ($1997-$2427) 438 ($1769-$2150) 452 ($1892-$2299) 2. That this Resolution shall be operative from and after May 1, 1980.
