HomeMy WebLinkAbout80-169REL:adg 9/22/80 RESOLUTION NO. 80-169 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DESIGNATING CERTAIN BUILDINGS AS HISTORICAL PROPERTY FOR INCLUSION IN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA REGISTER OF HISTORICAL PROPERTY WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana has provided, in Chapter 30 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, for the maintenance of the City of Santa Aha Register of Historical Property, to include such property as the City Council determines to have architectural or historical significance in accordance with the standards set forth in section 30-2 of the said Code; and WHEREAS, designation of property as Historical Property promotes rehabilitation by allowing the application of the State Historical Building Code and, as to property within an historical rehabilitation area, by giving eligibility for historical rehabilitation financing; and WHEREAS, the properties set forth hereinafter have been recommended for designation as Historical Property by a citizen's advisory committee; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: 1. The following buildings are found to meet the standards for designation as historical property set forth in section 30-2 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code and are hereby designated as Historical Property, to be included in the City of Santa Aha Register of Historical Property: Name Location (a) Santa Ana Fire Station 1322 N. Sycamore (b) Grand Central Building (Green's Furniture) 110-122 N. Sycamore (c) Orange County Savings 116 W. 4th St. and Trust Building (Davis Stationers) (d) Parson's Apartments (Jones Apartments) 414-418 W. 4th St. (e) Rankin's Department 117 W. 4th St. Store (Jackman Bldg.) (f) Mills and Edwards 400-402 W. Feed Store (Mark's Building) 4th St. (g) Parson's Apartment Annex 412 W. 4th St. (h) Clausen Block 410 W. 4th St. (i) Dr. Howe Waffle House 122 Civic Center Dr. RESOLUTION NO. 80-169 PAGE TWO (j) Dr. Julius Crane House 518 N. Broadway (Santa Ana First Federal Savings & Loan) (k) McFadden Public Market (Arcade Building) 515 N. Main St. (1) Minter House 322 W. 3rd St. (m) Santora Building 201-211 N. Broadway (n) Horton's Furniture Bldg. 517-521 N. Main St. (o) Lawrence Building (Army-Navy Store) 404-406 W. 4th St. (p) Deseret Building 505 N. Main St. (q) The Shelton House 1114-1116 W. Fifth Street (r) The Shelton-Townsend House 1108, 1108-1/2 W. Fifth Street 2. For each of the abovesaid properties, the corresponding report entitled "Historical Property Description," on file in the office of the Clerk of the Council, is hereby approved and adopted as the findings justifying designation as Historical Property. The Clerk of the Council is authorized and directed to include such reports, together with this resolution, in the City of Santa Ana Register of Historical Property.
