Communication was read from the Planning Cce~ission recommending approval of pro-
posed annexation to the City of Santa Aha, of property located on the north side
of Trask ;.venue between Berrydale and Laird Streets, consisting of 66.589 acres,
to be known as "Berrydale ,n~ Trask N. E. Annex," and on motion of Councilman

Heinly~ seconded by Brewer and carried~ the communication was received end filed.
The Council having unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
Councilman Heinly~ seconded by Gould and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
"Resolution No. 59-B1B declaring consent of the City of Santa Aua
to the co.~eneement of proceedings under the Annexation Act of
1913 of territory known as ~Berrydale and Trask N.E.Annex'"
was considered and passed by the following vote:

The Council having uranimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
Councilman Gould, seconded by Brewer and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
"Re solution No. 59-314 acknowledging receipt of Affidavit of Publication
of intention to circulate petition for annexation to the City of Santa
Aha, and accompanying statement, and approving circulation of petition
in territory nc~inated 'Berrydale and Trask N.E. Annex'"
was considered and passed by the following vote:

A report was presented from the Boundary Commission regarding proposed annexation
of territory to the City of Santa Ana, designated "South Santa Aha Annex No. 2,"
and advising the boundaries of the proposed annexation are reasonably definite and
certain although it will create an overlap of 3.8 feet with the City of Costa
Mesa. On motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Heinly and carried, the report was
received and filed.
Petitions were presented, signed by approximately 33 persons, requesting the City
Council to commence proceedings for the annexation of certain territory consisting
of approximately 2,000 acres, located south of Edinger Street, east of Harbor Boule=
yard, west of Newport Avenue and Main Street, and north of Baker Street, designated
"South Santa Aha Annex No. 2," and an motion of Councilman Gould, seconded by Heinly
and carried, the petitions were received and filed.
The Clerk read her certification stating an examination had been made of the peti-
tion for annexation of territory designated "South Santa Aha Annex No. 2," and
advising said petition is signed by not less than One-fourth of the qualified
electors residing within the territory sought to be annexed to the City of Santa
Aha in said petition, as shown by the Orange County registration of voters, and that
said petition contains a description of the territory so proposed to be annexed.
On motion of Counci!man Gould, seconded by Brewer and carried, the certification
~as received and filed.
A certification from the County Clerk was read advising that an examination of the
records indicates there are 97 registered voters residing within the territory
designated "South Santa Aua Annex No. 2," and that the petitions checked in regard
to this annexation contain the signatures of 27 registered voters. On motion of
Councilman Gould, seconded by Brewer and carried, the certification was received and
filed.
The Council havtng unanimously waived the reading of the Resolution, on motion of
Councilman Gould, seconded by Heinly and carried, the following Resolution entitled:
"Resolution No. 59-315 declaring intention to ca1 ] a special election in
that certaim territory herein designated 'South Santa Aha Annex No. 2'
to submit the question of -n-exation to,he City of Santa Aua to the
electors residing in said territory, and giving notice of the day,
hour and place for property owners to show cause why said territory
should not be
setting the hearing date on Jauuary 18, 1960, for an annexation to be known as
"South Santa A~a Annex No. 2~' was considered and passed by the following vote:
