A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA ORDERING THE CONSOLIDATION
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION AND THE SANTA ANA UNIFIED SCHOOL
DISTRICT SPECIAL ELECTION ON MARCH 3, 1981
WHEREAS, this Council has called for the 1981
general municipal election to be held on March 3, 1981 in
order to allow for consolidation with a special election of
the Santa Ana Unified School District to be held the same
date; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Superintendent of
Schools, on behalf of the said school district, has
requested that the said special election be consolidated
with the said general municipal election on the basis that
this City conduct the said consolidated election and canvass
the votes thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the consolidation of the general
municipal election of the City of Santa Ana and the special
election of the Santa Ana Unified School District is hereby
ordered, on the basis that the City of Santa Ana, by and
through its Clerk of the Council, shall conduct the said
election and canvass the votes thereof and the Santa Ana
Unified School District shall reimburse the City of Santa
Ana for the said District's proport~nate share of the costs
of such consolidated election.
2. That the Santa Ana Unified School District
shall remain solely responsible for the processing of
nomination papers of candidates for the position of board
member of said District and all financial and campaign
disclosure statements required by law from such candidates.
3. That the Clerk of the Council is authorized
to act on behalf of the City of Santa Ana to enter into such
agreements or arrangements with the Santa Ana Unified School
District, through such officer authorized to act on behalf
of the said District, as necessary or appropriate to carry
out the said consolidated election.
