RESOLUTION NO. 80-2]8
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CLERK
OF THE COUNCIL TO ESTABLISH PRECINCTS AND
POLLING PLACES, TO APPOINT PRECINCT OFFICERS,
TO CANVASS THE RETURNS, TO PREPARE SUPPLIES
AND MATERIALS, AND TO PUBLISH NOTICES, FOR
THE MARCH 3, 1981 CONSOLIDATED GENERAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION AND SANTA ANA UNIFIED
SCHOOL DISTRICT SPECIAL ELECTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. That there shall be 74 voting precincts for
the March 3, 1981 general municipal election of the City of
Santa Ana, to be held in consolidation with the special
election of the Santa Ana Unified School District.
2. That the Precinct Board of each precinct
shall consist of one Inspector, one Judge, and two Clerks;
and that said Precinct Officers shall receive the following
compensation for their services: Inspectors, $35.00; Judges
and Clerks, $30.00; and the owners of privately owned
polling places shall receive the sum of $25.00 for the use
of each polling place. Precinct officers shall also receive
$5.00 for attendance at a training class to be arranged by
the Clerk of the Council.
3. That the precincts and polling places thereof
shall be established by the Clerk of the Council based upon
precincts established by the Orange County Registrar of
Voters for State and County elections, or such
consolidations thereof as the Clerk of the Council shall
determine to be appropriate. The Clerk may make such
adjustments in such precinct boundary lines as may be
appropriate to allow the consolidation of the general
municipal election with the special election of the Santa
Ana Unified School District.
4. That the Clerk of the Council shall make all
necessary arrangements for polling places in the Precincts
and shall appoint Precinct officers for each such polling
place. The Clerk is further authorized to appoint
substitutes for Precinct officers who are unable or
unwilling to act.
5. That, pursuant to Section 22932.5 of the
Elections Code of the State of California, the canvass of
the returns of the said consolidated election is hereby
ordered to be made by the Clerk of the Council prior to
March 10, 1981.
6. That the said consolidated election shall be
held and conducted in accordance with the provisions of the
Charter of the City of Santa Ana, the Constitution of the

State of California, and the Elections Code of the State of
California. The Clerk of the Council is hereby authorized
and directed to prepare or cause to be prepared al.1 election
materials and supplies and to publish all notices as
required for the conduct of the said consolidated election.
