HomeMy WebLinkAbout81-013RESOLUTION NO. 81-13 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 58-281 TO ADD THE CLASS TITLE OF SECURITY GUARD AND ESTABLISH AN ASSIGNMENT PAY DIFFERENTIAL FOR SAID CLASS FOR INCUMBENTS ASSIGNED ADDED RESPONSIBILITIES AS LEAD SUPERVISORY PERSONNEL WHEREAS, on November 3, 1958, the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. 58-281, revising and re-establishing the Basic Compensation Plan for all offi- cers and employees of the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Aha requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position classi- fication and pay plan subject to Civil Service Rules and Regulations and the approval of the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended said Resolution; and WHEREAS, in order to provide for increased security at various municipally owned public-use facilities and areas for the prevention of burglary and vandalism and the protection and safety of patrons and employees, it is now desired to estab- lish a new position classification and an assignment pay differential rate for the employment of "civilian" specialists to perform security guard/patrol assignments not requiring sworn police authority. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana: 1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 58-281, as amended, is hereby further amended by: a. Adding, in proper alphabetical sequence, the new class title of SECURITY GUARD at Salary Rate Range No. 354, $1174-$1427 per month, and b. Adding the following pay differential desgination to the list of such desginations footnoted at the end of Section 3: (h) An incumbent of the class of Security Guard who is assigned to and regularly serves in a lead supervisory capacity over a departmental unit of security guards will be paid an additional fifteen (15) salary rate ranges (7.5%) above his/her then current base monthly salary rata. 2. That this Resolution shall be operative from and after January 1, 1981.
