RESOLUTION NO. 81-144
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA VACATING A PUBLIC ALLEY GENERALLY
LOCATED BETWEEN GARNSEY AND PARTON STREETS IN
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA; DESCRIBING
SAID ALLEY; AND DIRECTING THE CLERK OF THE
COUNCIL TO CAUSE A CERTIFIED COPY OF THIS
RESOLUTION TO BE RECORDED IN THE OFFICE OF
THE COUNTY RECORDER OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana
has read and considered a report dated August 21, 1981,
prepared by the Director of Public Works, recommending that
a public alley, generally located between Garnsey and
Parton Streets in the City of Santa Ana, and more particularly
described in Exhibit "A," attached hereto and incorporated
by reference, be vacated; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to and in accordance with the
provisions and Articles 1 and 2, pertaining to summary
vacations, of Chapter 4 of Part 3 of Division 9 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, this
Council finds from all the evidence submitted that the said
alley, as described in the said Exhibit "A," is unnecessary
for present or prospective public use, based upon the
following findings of fact:
1. That said alley, for a period of five (5)
consecutive years, has been impassable for vehicular use;
and
2. That said alley, for a period of five (5)
consecutive years, has not been the subject of the expenditure
of public monies for the maintenance thereof.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of ~ 2381 of
Chapter 8 of Division 3 of the Streets and Highways Code of
the State of California, the City Council does hereby find
and determine that neither said alley, nor any part or
portion thereof, is useful as a nonmotorized transportation
facility, as defined in § 156 of said code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA:
That this Council does hereby order that that
certain public alley, generally located between Garnsey and
Parton Streets in the City of Santa Aha, more fully described
in Exhibit "A," attached hereto and made a part hereby of
this reference, be, and the same is, hereby vacated.

The Clerk of the Council is hereby directed to
cause a certified copy hereof, attested by her under seal,
to be recorded forthwith in the Office of the Recorder of
Orange County.

The Southerly 20.00 feet of the Northerly 30.00 feet of Lot 25 of Wakeham Tract
as shown on that certain map recorded in Book 8, page 3 of Miscellaneous Maps,
records of said County.
Parcel 2:
The' Easterly 2.5 feet of the Northerly lO.O feet of Lot 25 of Wakeham Tract
as shown on that certain map recorded in Book 8, page 3 of Miscellaneous Maps,
records of said County.
Parcel 3:
That portion of Lot 25 of Wakeham Tract as shown on that certain map recorded
tn Book 8, page 3 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of said County, described as
follows:
Beginning at a point on the North line of the hereinabove previously described
Parcel 1, said point being distant 22.5 feet Westerly from the East line of said
Lot 25; thence Easterly along said North line 20.00 feet to the West line of the
hereinabove described Parcel 2; thence Northerly lO.O0 feet along said West line
to the North line of said Lot 25; thence Southwesterly to the Point of Beginning.
Parcel 4:
That portion of Lot 25 of Wakeham Tract as shown on that certain map recorded
tn book 8, page 3 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of said County, described as
follows:
Beginning at a point on the North line of the hereinabove previously described
Parcel 1, said point being distant 12.0 feet Easterly from the West line of said
Lot 25; thence Westerly along said North line 10.0 feet to a line parallel and
distant 2.0 feet Easterly, measured at right angles from said West line of Lot
25, said parallel line being also the East line of Garnsey Street, 52.0 feet wide;
thence Northerly along said parallel line 10.0 feet to a point on the North line
of said Lot 25; thence Southeasterly to the Point of Beginning.
Parcel 5:
That portion of Lot 25 of Wakeham Tract as shown on that certain map recorded
in Book 8, page 3 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of said County, described as
follows:
Beginning at a point on the South line of the hereinabove prevously described
Parcel 1, said point being distant 12.0 feet Easterly from the West line of
said Lot 25; thence Westerly along said South line lO.O feet to a line parallel
and distant 2.0 feet Easterly, measured at right angles from said West line of
Lot 25, said parallel line being also the East line of Garnsey Street, 52.0
feet wide; thence Southerly along said parallel line lO.O feet; thence North-
easterly to the Point of Beginning.
Parcel 6:
The Westerly 2.5 feet of the Southerly 2 feet of Lot 9 and the Westerly 2.5 feet
of the Northerly 12.0 feet of Lot l0 of W. I. Keese's addition to the City of
Santa Ana, as shown on that certain map recorded in Book 28, page 51 of Miscel-
laneous Records of Los Angeles County, and in Book 1, page 25 of Miscellaneous
Maps, records of Orange County, California.
