A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 81-93
TO AMEND THE FEE SCItEIXILE FOR ANIMAL CONTROL AND REGULATICN
h~iEREAS, on June 15, 1981, the City Council passed and adopted
Resolution No. 81-93, establishing a Uniform Schedule of Fees; and
WHEREAS, the County of C~ange has requested the City of Santa Ana
to adopt revised fees for Animal Control and Regulation in conformity with
revised Orange County fees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Santa Ana
That Section III of Resolution No. 81-93 is hereby amended by
substituting the following under the heading "ANIMAL CONTROL AND REGULATION
FEES":
ANIMAL CONTROL AND REGULATION FEES
(Animals Impounded at the Shelter)
Impound Fees:
a. Large animal (horse, cow, etc. )
actual cost or if greater ....
b. Medium animal (pig, sheep, etc. )
actual cost or if greater ....
c. Dog, cat or other small animal
actual cost or if greater ....
Each 40.00
Each 30.00
Each 25.00
Placement Fees:
b. Cat
c. Other animal subject to placement
Each 13.00
Each 8.00
Each Market Value
Daily Care and Feed (minimum of one
day charge):
a. Large animal (horse, cow, etc.) Each 6.50
b. Medium animal (pig, sheep, etc.) Each 4.00
c. Dog or cat Each 3.50
d. Other small animal Each Actual Cost
Veterinary Services:
a. Vaccination against rabies
b. Relative Value Unit (for Medical
Services)
Other procedures (X-rays, shots, lab)
Medical or surgical care, per
treatment, performed by private
veterinarian, flat rate

City Shelter Service Fee:
~harged to contract cities for animals
not redeemed by owners

The Directormaycharge the owner or custodian for
veterinary care rendered to impounded animals and such
charges shall constitute a lien on said animals.

BE IT FUI~I~ERRESOLVED: That this Resolution shall be operative
from and after November 1, 1981.
