HomeMy WebLinkAbout81-184REL: adg 10/20/81 RESOLUTION NO. 81-184 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DETERMINING THAT A PROJECT AREA COMMITTEE SHALL NOT BE FORMED IN CONNECTION WITH THE SANTA ANA SOUTH MAIN STREET REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT WHEREAS~ by Resolution No. 81-6097, adopted on October 12, 1981, the Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana selected and designated the boundaries of the Project Area for the Santa Ana South Main Street Redevelopment Project, approved a Preliminary Plan for the redevelopment of the Project Area, and submitted the Preliminary Plan to the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, the Community Redevelopment Agency has submitted the Preliminary 'Plan to the Santa Ana Redevelopment Commission for preparation of an official redevelopment plan for the proposed Project; and WHEREAS, the California Community Redevelopment Law (Health and Safety Code, Section 33000 et seq.) requires that a project area committee be formed if a substantial number of low- and moderate-income families will be displaced by the Project; and WHEREAS, the California Community Redevelopment Law also requires, in the event the Project will not displace a substantial number of low- and moderate-income families, the Redevelopment Commission to consult with the and obtain the advice of residents and ccmmunity organizations either through the formation of a project area committee or through direct consultation with and obtaining advice from such residents and community organizations, and further requires that the proposed Redevelopment Plan be provided to such residents and community organizations prior to submitting it to the City Council; and WHEREAS, the Santa Ana South Main Street Redevelopment Project for which the Redevelopment Commission is preparing a Redevelopment Plan will not displace a substantial number of low- and moderate-income families. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Santa Ana as follows: 1. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the Santa Ana South Main Street Redevelopment Project will not displace a substantial number of low- and moderate- income families, and that formation of a project area committee is not required prior to adoption of the Redevelopment Plan. The City Council further determines that a project area committee shall not be formed in connection with the Project. RESOLUTION NO. 81-184 PAGE TWO 2. The Santa Ana Redevelopment Commission is hereby authorized and directed to consult with and obtain the advice of residents and community organizations within the Project Area, and to provide such residents and organizations with the Redevelopment Plan prior to its submission to the City Council.
