RESOLUTION NO. 82-49
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
COMMENDING THE ORANGE COUNTY COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL, INC.
WHEREAS, the Orange County Community Development
Council, Inc., (CDC) a private non-profit organization, has
been providing a variety of services to assist the low income
residents of Orange County to become more self sufficient;
health care, senior transportation, weatherization and energy
conservation, housing advocacy, training and technical as-
sistance, community information, alcoholism control, and food
bank services.
WHEREAS, the CDC Food Bank Program has recently
distributed over 237,000 pounds of government surplus cheese
to approximately 55,000 needy Orange County residents.
WHEREAS, no additional funding support was provided
to CDC or the other organizations to assist in this voluntary
cheese distribution program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Santa Ana commends the Orange County Community
Development Council and its staff for performing an outstanding
community service in the cheese distribution program in Orange
County.
