A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AND APPROVING THE
DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN SERGEANT LOGS,
PRESERVED ON CUMPUTER DISC TAPE, FROM
1963 THROUGH 1975, INCLUSIVE, PURSUANT
TO SECTION 340g0 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE
OF THE STATE OF C. ALIFORNIA
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has submitted a request
for authority to destroy certain sergeant logs, preserved on
computer disc tape, from lg63 through lg75, inclusive; and
WHEREAS, said request has been approved in writing by
the City Attorney and is recommended for approval by the City
Manager, and is in accordance with the procedures and requirements
of the City and Section 34090 of the California Government Code; and
WHEREAS, said request is to destroy the computer tapes
which are more than two (2) years old and are no longer required
by the Police Department of the City of Santa Ana.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. Subject to the conditions and exceptions hereinafter set
forth, the Chief of Police is hereby authorized to destroy all
sergeant logs preserved on computer disk tape from 1963 through
1975, inclusive.
2. Disc tapes which are evidence in any claim filed or pend-
ing litigation shall be preserved until the claim or pending
litigation is resolved.
ADOPTED this 2nd day of August , 1982.
