A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
ANA AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION TO APPLY
FOR $2,150,000 IN STATE TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT FUNDS
FOR FACILITY CONSTRUCTION AT THE INTERCITY COMMUTER STATION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana has
identified improvements to the Amtrak passenger facility as a top trans-
portation priority with the City of Santa Ana; and
WHEREAS, funds have been allocated by the legislature of the
State of California for improvement of transportation passenger facilities;
and
WHEREAS, said funds will be allocated according to Chapter 4.6,
Division 3 of the California Streets and Highways Code, Section 2170 et s_eeq.
("said law"); and --
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana desires to
approve the submission of an application for additional funds for the
construction of a new Santa Ana Intercity Commuter Station in accordance
with said law.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Director of Transportation is authorized and directed
to make application to the California Department of Transportation for
$2,150,000 in funds for construction of a new Intercity Commuter Station
in accordance with Section 2170 e._~_t seq. of the California Streets and
Highways Code.
2. The Director of Transportation is directed to contact
the appropriate legislative representatives concerned with this project
and solicit their support of the project.
