HomeMy WebLinkAbout82-129RESOLUTION NO. 82-129 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA SUPPORTING A POLICY OF DIRECT DATA INTERCHANGE WITH TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTROL SYSTEMS IN ADJOINING CITIES. WHEREAS, it has been demonstrated that interconnected traffic signal systems can effectively provide an orderly assignment of right-of-way to various vehicular traffic movements; and WHEREAS, an effective progressive traffic movement can reduce the frequency of certain types of traffic accidents and provide public safety; and WHEREAS, the Master Plan of Arterial Highways for the County of Orange establishes a continuity of the highway system throughout the County; and WHEREAS, the direct and real time interchange of data between compatible control systems in adjacent cities within the County of Orange can facilitate the integrated movement of vehicular traffic along contiguous master planned highways and across jurisdictional boundaries. NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana does hereby RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND FIND that it supports a policy of such data interchange with adjoining agencies where such operation is technically feasible.
