RESOLUTION NO. 84-60
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA IN SUPPORT OF THE
CALIFORNIA PARK AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES
ACT OF 1984, PROPOSITION 18.
WHEREAS, the demand for parks, beaches, recreation
areas and recreational facilities, and historical resources
preservation projects in California is far greater than what
is presently available; and
WHEREAS, the proper planning and development of
parks, beaches, recreational areas and facilities, contribute
not only to a healthy physical and moral environment, but also
contribute to the economic betterment of the State; and
WHEREAS, the California Park and Recreation Facilities
Act of 1984, Proposition 18, will provide $370,000,000 for park-
lands acquisition and development allowing local recreation
agencies to meet the increasing demand by providing funds for
extensive development of recreational outlets where they are
most needed; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has used funds gen-
erated by previous bond acts of 1976-1980 to renovate countless
recreation facilities to improve the recreation opportunities
for this city's residents; and
WHEREAS, some of these projects have been labor-
saving improvements and provided additional areas for recreation
activities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Santa Ana that the Santa Ana City Council is in full

support of the California Park and Recreational Facilities
Act of 1984, Proposition 18, which will be on the June 5,
1984 California Primary Election Ballot, for voters approval.
ADOPTED this 215t day of May , 1984.
