A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA DENYING MINOR EXCEPTION
APPLICATION NO. 84-20, SEEKING TO ALLOW
THE SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES FOR ON-
SITE CONSUMPTION ON PROPERTY LOCATED AT
2026 WEST FIFTH STREET

WHEREAS, this Council held a public hearing on
July 2, 1984, on Minor Exception Application No. 84-20, to
allow the sale of general alcoholic beverages in addition
to beer and wine for on-site consumption in a bar/nightclub
located at 2026 West Fifth Street in the M1 District;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SAIgTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. Based upon the evidence submitted at the abovesaid
hearing this council finds and determines as follows:
(a) The proposed use is not necessary or desirable to
provide a service which will contribute to the general well-being
of the neighborhood for the community.
(b) The proposed use may be injurious to persons and
property in the vicinity in that the existing bar/nightclub
already lacks adequate parking and is characterized by excessive
noise levels, vandalism, security problems, loitering and park-
ing overflow, and the additon of general alcoholic beverage
service would only compound such problems.
2. Minor Exception Application No. 84-20 is hereby denied.
