RESOLUTION NO. 84- 107
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN
APPLICATION WITH THE UNITED STATES FOREIGN-
TRADE ZONES BOARD FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF
A FOREIGN TRADE ZONE.
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is eligible to apply
for authorization to establish a Foreign Trade Zone pursuant
to the Foreign Trade Zones Act of 1934, as amended (19 U.S.C.
81a-81u); and
WHEREAS, the advantages to be received from a Foreign
Trade Zone will enhance economic development in the City, in-
cluding the development of new jobs and an expanded tax base
through private capital investment; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Santa Ana to
provide for the establishment of a Foreign Trade Zone in order
to improve and upgrade the City's position with respect to
international trade;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby authorized to
apply to the United States Foreign-Trade Zone Board on behalf
of the City of Santa Ana, California for the right to establish,
operate and maintain a foreign trade zone.

2. That the Mayor is further directed to execute and file
such application together with all certificaitons, assurances,
documents and information required in conneciton therewith.
