RESOLUTION NO. 84-144
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE
OF TRAFFIC SAFETY TO SPONSOR THE SANTA ANA
POLICE DEPARTMENT MINORITY TRAFFIC EDUCATION
AND ENFORCEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to participate
in the California Office of Traffic Safety special project
to decrease drunk driving enforcement through education; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has designed a
special project for drunk driving enforcement and education,
which project is called the Minority Traffic Education and
Enforcement Project and conforms with the requirements of
the California Office of Traffic Safety; and
WHEREAS, said office of Traffic Safety is willing
to contribute in excess of $200,000.00 to the City of Santa
Ana for salaries, benefits, supplies and training used in
said program over a two-year period;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA that the City Manager is authorized
and directed to execute an agreement with the California
Office of Traffic Safety to sponsor the Minority Traffic
Education and Enforcement Project for a period of two years
ending October 31, 1986.
