RESOLUTION NO. 84-172
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 82-110
TO ADD THREE NEW POSITION CLASSIFICATIONS
AND TO CHANGE TWO EXISTING CLASS TITLES
WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982, the City Council passed
and adopted Resolution No. 82-110 revising and re-establishing
the basic Classification and Compensation Plan for officers
and employees of the City of Santa Ana; and
WHEREAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter
of the City of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare,
install and maintain a position classification and pay plan
subject to civil service rules and regulations and the approval
of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time amended
said Resolution; and
WHEREAS, it is now desired to add three new classes,
designating two such classes as unrepresented middle-management;
change two existing class titles, and designate another existing
class as terminal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana as follows:
1. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110 is hereby
further amended by:
a. Designating the class of Director of Emergency
Preparedness and Public Safety Services (EM) as "terminal" by
adding the parenthetical designator (T) next to following the
class title so that, upon being vacated by its last remaining
incumbent, the class will be automatically deleted from the
City's Classification and Compensation plan.

b. Changing the existing class title of Administrative
Assistant to City Manager/Contracts Compliance Officer (MM) to
Assistant Director of Emergency Preparedness (MM) at no change
in currently assigned salary rate range.
c. Changing the existing class title of Deputy Clerk
of the Council-Records to Records Management Officer at no change
in currently assigned salary rate range.
d. Adding, in proper alphabetical sequence, the
following new class titles at the salary rate ranges indicated
next thereto:

e. Designating the new class titles of Executive
Assistant I and II as unrepresented middle-management by add-
ing the parenthetical designator (MM) next to the class titles.
2. That this Resolution shall be operative from and
