A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA FOR RATIFICATION
OF THE CITIES OF BUENA PARK'S AND IDS ALAMITOS' REQUESTS
FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE SANTA ANA RIVER FLOOD PROTECTION AGENCY
WHEREAS, The Santa Ana River Flood Protection Agency was formed in 1974 to
prclnote a Corps of Engineers' project on the Santa Ana River to remedy what is
currently described as the worst flood threat west of the Mississippi River; and
W~EREAS, the Agency now consists of 22 members who have been instrumental
in developing and prc~oting a r~nedial project now before the Congress for
authorization;
W~HEREAS, the Cities of Buena Park and Los Alamitos have requested inclusion
as members of the Agency;
W/REREAS, the Cities of Buena Park and Los Al~nitos are qualified for
membership and can assist in securing the authorization and subsequent
construction of the Santa Ana River Main Stun Project for the protection of
Orange County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that membership of the Cities of Buena Park
and Los Al~nitos in the Santa Ana River Flood Protection Agency be and is hereby
ratified.
