HomeMy WebLinkAbout85-067RESOLUTION NO. 85-67 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA TO COMMIT ITS LOCAL MATCHING FUNDS IN SUPPORT OF THE FEDERAL AID URBAN WIDENING OF BRISTOL STREET BETWEEN FIRST STREET AND WARNER AVENUE. WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana desires to improve Bristol Street between First Street and Warner Avenue; and WHEREAS, Bristol Street is a major north-south arterial corridor through the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, Bristol Street is a heavily traveled and congested corridor and is in need of widening and overall street improvements; and WHEREAS; the City of Santa Ana has been allocated Federal Highway Administration Federal Aid Urban Funds for Environmental Assessment of Bristol Street between First Street and Warner Avenue. NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the City of Santa Ana agrees with the basic precepts and policies of the Federal Highway Administration Federal Aid Urban Financing Program and will fully honor its matching fund requirements and is committed to providing the local match to assure the completion of the project as the need for such monies arises. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby requests that the Orange County Transportation Commission assure the allocation to the City from FAU funds in the amount limited to a maximum of $3 million dollars for the project. This amount is to be matched by funds from the City, to be used by the City to complete the improvement of Bristol Street between First Street and Warner Avenue upon certification of the Environmental Impact Statement.
