RESOLUTION NO. 85- 142
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA DETERMINING NOT TO
REVOKE VARIANCE NO. 70-39 PERMITTING CAR
RENTAL SERVICES AT 1215 NORTH GRAND AVENUE
WHEREAS, Variance No. 70-39 was approved by the City
Council of the City of Santa Ana on January 18, 1971, to allow
car rental services in conjunction with a service station on
property located at 1215 North Grand Avenue in the R2 District,
subject to certain conditions; and
WHEREAS, on July 22, 1985, the Planning Commission of
the City of Santa Ana revoked Variance No. 70-39 for violation
of the conditions of approval thereof; and
WHEREAS, on November 18, 1985, the City Council held
a public hearing on the revocation of Variance No. 70-39, which
matter was brought before the City Council by Appeal No. 529;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. This Council finds and determines that revocation of
Variance No. 70-39 is not warranted at this time, and the action
of the Planning Commission in revoking said Variance is therefore
hereby reversed, provided that there is compliance in the future
with the conditions of approval of said variance and with the
following additional conditions:
(a) A six-foot high decorative block wall and land-
scapinG shall be installed and maintained in accordance
with concept plans considered by the City Council at its
November 15, 1985 hearing.
(b) Detailed plans for such wall and landscaping
shall be submitted to the Planning Department for ap-
proval by November 30, 1985.

2. The Planning Department shall report to this Council
November 19§6 with re~ard to compliane~ with thi~ ro~olution.
