HomeMy WebLinkAbout87-007029 RESOLUTION NO. 87-7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION TO ALLOCATE ORANGE COUNTY UNIFIED TRANSPORTATION TRUST (0CUTT) FUNDS FOR EDINGER AVENUE BETWEEN EUCLID STREET AND NEWHOPE STREET WHEREAS, Chapter 1512, Statutes of 1985 allows the Orange County Transportation Commission to allocate funds from the rapid transit reserve to local agencies for the improvement, construction, or repair of local streets and roads; and WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Commission approved a $12 million OCUTT Streets and Roads Program on April 14, 1986 covering fis- cal years 1986-87 through 1988-89; and WHEREAS, the three-year program includes $214,000 in 1986-1987 for a street reconstruction project on Edinger Euclid Street and Newhope Street. fiscal year Avenue between NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby requests the Orange County Transportation Com~fi~sion allocate $10,400 for construction engineering and $148,200 for con- struction for a total of $158,600 in OCUTT funds to the City. This request is in conformance with the OCUTT allocation process and does not exceed ninety (90) percent of the OCUTT allocation programmed for the project. BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City of Santa Aha agrees to fund its share of the improvement costs in fiscal year 1987-1987 and any additional costs over the programmed OCUTT amount of $214,000. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City of Santa Ana has awarded the contract for the project on Edinger Avenue for $329,340. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City of Santa Ana has 1) designed the project improvements in accordance with the City's design stan- dards, 2) acquired right-of-way for the project in conformance with the City's policies and procedures, and 3) completed and certified all required environmental documentation for the project. 030 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the remaining ten (10) percent in OCUTT funds will be transferred to the City of Santa Ana when construc- tion is completed and a final report on the project is accepted by the Orange County Transportation Commission. The City of Santa Ana agrees to submit the final report to the Orange County Transportation Commis- sion within ninety (90) days after the City's acceptance of the improvements.
