RESOLUTION NO. 87- 53
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA SUMMARILY
VACATING EXCESS RIGHT-OF-WAY LOCATED
ON CENTURY BOULEVARD
WHEREAS, this Council finds and determines that a
certain portion of Century Boulevard, more particularly
described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated
herein, is excess right-of-way street portion which is not
required for street purposes for the following reason:
(a) Said street portion was dedicated for right-
of-way purposes by Tract No. 538 as a portion of as 100 foot
wide street.
(b) Said street has now been determined to require
no more than 72 feet of right-of-way.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of S 2381 of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,
this Council does find and determine that the abovesaid street
portion is not useful as a nonmotorized transportation facility,
as defined in ~ 156 of said Code; and
WHEREAS, this Council finds and determines that
there are no in-place public utility facilities in the
abovesaid street portion; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 4 of Part 33
of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State
of California, and, in particular, § 8334 theref, that
portion of "Century Boulevard" in the City of Santa Ana
specified in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated
herein, is, under the facts hereinabove recited, hereby
vacated and, from the date this resolution is recorded in the
office of the Recorder of Orange County, shall no longer
constitute a street or any portion thereof.
2. The Clerk of the Council is hereby directed to
cause a certified copy hereof, attested by her under seal, to

PROPOSED ABANDOI~MENT NO. 87-A5
That certain portion of Century Boulevard lying contiguous
to the South line of Lot 5 of Tract No. 538 as shown on that
certain map recorded in Book 23, page 33 of Miscellaneous
Maps of Orange County, California, said portion bounded by
the southerly prolongation of the East and West sidelines of
said Lot 5, and the said South line of Lot 5 and a line
parallel with and distant 14 feet from said South line of
Lot 5.
