HomeMy WebLinkAbout87-059- -'- 27.3 RESOLUTION NO. 87- 59 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AMENDING RESOLUTION 82-110 TO DELETE, ADD AND CHANGE SEVERAL CLASS TITLES AND EFFECT OTHER CHANGES TO THE CITY'S BASIC CLASSIFICATION AND COMPENSATION PLAN FOR OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA. WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982 the City Council passed and adopted Resolution No. 82-110 revising and re-establishing the Basic Classification and Compensation Plan for officers and Employees of the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, Section 1004 Article X of the City Charter of the City of Santa Ana requires the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a position classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and regulations and the approval of the City Council; and WHEREAS, City Council has from time to time amended said Resolution; and WHEREAS, with the adoption of the annual budget for Fiscal Year 1987-88, the City Council authorized certain organizational and staffing changes which affect several class titles in the City's Basic Classification and Compensation Plan for classes of employment contained in Resolution No. 82-110; and WHEREAS, the changing needs and priorities of the City departments dictate certain changes in the Basic Classification and Compensation Plan for classes of employment contained in Resolution No. 82-110, and WHEREAS, it is now desired to amend said Resolution to delete, add and change several class titles and salary rate ranges affected by said organizational and staffing changes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA: %. That Section 3 of Resolution No. 82-110, as amended, is hereby further amended by: a. Deleting the following class titles: Contract Compliance Officer Community Events Aide (Full-time) Legislative Analyst Public Information Officer 2~RESOLUTION NO. 87-59 PAGE 2 b. Designating as "terminal" the following class titles by adding the parenthetical identifier "T" following each class title so that the class will automatically bet deleted from the City's Basic Classification and Compensation Plan upon being vacated by its current incumbent: Cc~aunity Preservation Coordinator (T) Community Preservation Inspector I (T) community Preservation Inspector II (T) Hispanic Affairs Coordinator (T) c. Changing the following existing class titles indicated at no change in currently assigned salary: as FROM TO Housing Representative I Housing Representative II Inspection Coordinator Loan Processing Aide Manpower Assistant Manpower Associate PlanExaminer I ,Plan Examiner II Property Rehabilitation Supervisor Relocation Specialist Assistant Senior Housing Representative Zoo Attendant I Zoo,Attendant II Housing Specialist I Housing Specialist II Supervisor of Inspections Loan Processing Assistant Special Employment Development Assistant Special Employment Development Associate Plan Examiner , Assistant Plan Check Engineer Senior Residential Contruction Specialist Real Estate Assistant Senior Housing Specialist Zoo Keeper I Zoo Keeper II d. Changing the inappropriately classified position of Housing Programs Planner, currently at Salary Range 537 ($2867-3484) to an appropriately classified position of Housing Programs Analyst with a reduced Salary Range of 525 ($2703-$3285). e. Adding, in proper alphabetical sequence, the following ciass titles at the salary rate ranges as next thereto set out: Class Title Salary Range No. (Min. - Max.) That Section 3.5 "Part-time and Temporary Rates" of Resolution 82-110 is hereby further amended by: a. changing the hourly rate, established in the year 1982 for the part-time classification of Crossing Guard, as follows: Class Title Crossing Guard CURRENT Hourly Rates ($4.00-$4.25) PROPOSED Hourly Rates ($5.25-$5.50-$5.75-$6.00) b. Adding, in proper alphabetical sequence, the following part-time class titles and assigning said classes to hourly rates of pay as next thereto set out: Class Title Hourly Rates Community Events Aide Community Events Assistant $7.00-$7.50-$8.00 $9.00-$10.00-$11.00 1, 1987. 3.
