A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF SANTA ANA SUPPORTING THE
CALIFORNIA WILDLIFE, COASTAL AND
PARK LAND CONSERVATION ACT OF 1988
WHEREAS, this initiative would provide $776 million
statewide to protect wildlife habitat, park lands and coastal
areas and to provide recreational opportunities for the benefit
of present and future generations of Californians; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of Santa Ana finds that these
lands are a vital and necessary part of our community and help
to preserve the quality of life in the City of Santa Aha; and,
WHEREAS, these lands are an essential and irreplaceable
part of our State's unique natural heritage and must be
preserved; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana anticipates receiving
$81S,775 from the passage of the California Wildlife, Coastal
and Park Land Conservation Act; and,
WHEREAS, a statewide coalition of civic and conservation
groups and businesses has formed the group "Californians for
Parks and Wildlife" to seek qualification and voter approval of
the California Wildlife, Coastal and Park Land Initiative on
the June, 1988 state ballot.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
Council of the City of Santa Ana, California, do hereby support
the California Wildlife, Coastal and Park Land Conservation Act
of 1988.
