RESOLUTION NO. 88-83
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA DECLARING THE RESULTS
OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD
IN SAID CITY ON NOVEMBER 8, 1988.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Charter of the City of Santa
Ana, a general municipal election was held in the City of Santa
Ana on November 8, 1988 to fill the office of Mayor of said City
and the offices of members of the City Council of said City
nominated from Wards 1, 3 and 5 of said City; and
WHEREAS, in addition, pursuant to Ordinance No. NS-
1973 and Resolution No. 88-58 of the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana, the following ballot measure was submitted to the
voters of the City of said election:
Measure Y
Shall sections 400, 402, 405 and 406
of the Charter be amended to clarify
the meaning of certain provisions
concerning the mayor and mayor pro tem?
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the results of the said election, including the
whole number of votes cast in the City, the names of the persons
voted for, the measures voted upon, for what office each person
was voted for, and the number of votes given in the city to each
person and for and against each measure, are set forth in that
certain document attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated
herein by this reference as though fully set forth.
2. That, based upon said results, DANIEL H. YOUNG is
declared elected to the office of Mayor of the City of Santa Ana
for a two-year term.
3. That, based upon said results, the following persons
are declared elected to the following respective offices, for
four-year terms:
PAT RICIA A. McGUIGAN, Member of the City Council of
the City of Santa Ana from Ward 1.
JOHN ACOSTA, Member of the City Council of the City
of Santa Ana from Ward 3.
DANIEL E. GRISET, Member of the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana from Ward 5.

4. That the votes of a majority of all the voters voting
at said election on Measure Y were cast in favor of said ballot
measure, and said ballot measure is hereby declared to have
been approved.
