A RESOLU~ON OF THE CITY COt~CIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
AM~ING RESOLUTION NO. 82-110 TO ADD THE NEW CLASS TITLE
TITLE AND SALARY FOR ASSISTANT M~I{G~NCY PREPAREDNESS

WH~.EAS, Section 1004, Article X of the City Charter of the City
of Santa Ana recpHres the City Manager to prepare, install and maintain a
position classification and pay plan subject to civil service rules and
regulations and the approval of the City Cot~cil; and
WHEREAS, on August 2, 1982 the City Cotmcil passed and adopted
Rmsolution No. 82-110 revising and reestablishing the Basic
Classification and Compensation Plan for Officers and Employees of the
City of Santa Arm; and
WH~MEAS, on Nov-..;-er 21, 1988 the City Council approved the
downtown Parking Meter Program and authorized several positions needed to
~mplemont said program; and
WHEREAS, a classification and compensation study requested by
the Fire Depa~r.,~nt and conducted by the h~,-n Rmsources Department
recc~n~ds that the title and pay range of the existing class of
Assistant Fm~rgency Preparedness Coordinator be changed to reflect
cu~Lent duties and ,mrket competitive pay rates; and
WHEREAS, it is now desired to -m~nd the City's Basic
Classification and Cuaq~ensation Plan in order to (1) add a new
classification at an appropriate pay range and (2) change the class title
and pay range for an existing classification.
NOW, ~I{EF~RE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY GOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA ANA:
1. That Section 3 of Resolution 82-110, as amended, is hereby
further -m~nded by:
a. Adding, in proper alphabetical sequence the new
classification of PARKING MM£~K TECHNICIAN at Salary Rate Range No. 458,
$1950-$2369 per month.
b. Changing the existing class title of Assistant
~rgency Preparedness Coordinator to ~G~qCY PREPAREDNESS COORDINATOR
and increasing the assigned pay level from Salary Rate Range No. 501
($2402-$2921 per month) to No. 521 ($2650-$3221 per month.)
2. ~l~at except as ,m~nded by th~s Resolution, all other
provisions of Resolution No. 82-110 shall r~qtn in full force and effect.

3. That this Resolution shall be operative from and after
March 16, 1989.
