A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA URGING THE AIRPORT
SITE COALITION TO STUDY AIRPORT SITES
LOCATED WITHIN ORANGE COUNTY

WHEREAS, The County of Orange has insufficient facilities to
serve the air travel demand generated within the County; and
WHEREAS, many air travelers from Orange County are forced to
travel to other counties to use airport faciltiies; and
WHEREAS, the Airport
select a site or sites for

Site Coalition is conducting a study to
an additional airport to serve Orange
WHEREAS, the study has identified approximately 17 sites
(included 10 within Orange County) which exhibit potential as an
airport site; and
WHEREAS, the Airport Site Coalition Study has proceeded to a
phase wherein an Airport Site Consensus Team, in an effort to select
the best site, will chose only a few of the potential sites for
additional study.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Santa Ana, in recognition of the air travel problems within
Orange County, urges the Airport Site Coalition and members of its
Airport Site Consensus Team to give greater weight to those sites
located within Orange County and to select for further study as many
of these sites as possible.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City staff is directed, and
other City representatives to the Airport Site Coalition Study are
urged, to vote or participate in the Airport Site Coalition Study
in a manner consistent with this resolution.
