HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-055RESOIL~ION NO. 89-055 A RESOLI~ION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE ORANGE TRANSPORTATION CO~%~ISSION TO ALLOCATE ORANGE COUNTY LI~IFIED TRANSPORTATION TRUST (OCUT~) b//NDS FOR FLOWER STR~sI' RESURFACING FIRST STOl' ~ SANTA ANA BOULEVARD WHEREAS, Chapter 1512, Statutes of 1985 allows the Orange County Transporta- tion Co~mission to allocate funds frc~ the rapid transit reserve to local agencies for the improv~nent, construction, or repair of local streets and roads; and WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Czmm~ssion approved a $12 million OCUTT Streets and Roads Program on April 14, 1986, covering Fiscal Years 1986-87 through 1988-89; and WHEREAS, the three-year program includes $224,000 in Fiscal Year 1988-89 for a street reconstruction project on Flower Street between First Street and Santa Ana Boulevard; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby requests the Orange County Transportation C~,aL.:ssion allocate $14,110 for construction engineering and $187,490 for construction for a total of $201,600 in OCUIT funds to the City. This request is in confoL~L~nce with the OC0'rr allocation process and does not exceed ninety (90) percent of the OCLFUP allocation prograrmned for the project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Santa Ana agrees to fund its share of the inprovement costs in Fiscal year 1988-89 and any additional costs over the progr~ OCUTT amount of $224,000. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Santa Ana has awarded the contract for the project on Flower Street for $725,155. BE IT FUKTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Santa Ana has 1) designed the project improvements in accordance with the City's design standards; 2) acquired right-of-way for the project in conformance with the City's policies and procedures; and 3) completed and certified all required environmental documen- tation for the project. PAGE TWO 259 89-0~5 BE IT FJi~UHER RESOLVED, that the remaining ten (10) percent in OCUT~ funds will be transferred to the City of Santa Ana when o~nstruction is cc~oleted and a final report on the project is accepted by the Orange County Transporta- tion Coa~ssion. The City of Santa Ana agrees to submit the final report to the Orange County Transportation Cc~a~ission within ninety (90) days after the City's acceptance of the improvements.
