HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-068375 RESOLUTION NO. 89-068 A RESOLUTICN OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA REQUESTING THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION ~O~94ISSlON TO ALLOCATE ORANGE COUNTY UNIFIED TRANSPORTATION TRUST (OCUT~) FUNDS FOR BRISTOL STP~r RESUi{FACING FIFTH STRE~'r AND M~MORY LANE WHEREAS, Chapter 1512, Statutes of 1985 allows the Orange County Transporta- tion Con~nission to allocate funds frc~n the rapid transit reserve to local agencies for the improv~nent, construction, or repair of local streets and roads; and WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Commission approved a $12 million OO31~ Streets and Roads Program on April 14, 1986, covering Fiscal Years 1986-87 through 1988-89; and WHEREAS, the three-year program includes $650,000 in Fiscal Year 1988-89 for a street recom~truction project on Bristol Street between Fifth Street and Memory Lane; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Santa Ana hereby requests the Orange County Transportation C~L,,.~ssion allocate $77,500 for construction engineering and $473,235 for construction for a total of $550,735 in OO3IT funds to the City. This request is in conformance with the OO3T~ allocation process and does not exceed ninety (90) percent of the OCUTT allocation progranmed for the project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Santa Ana agrees to fund its share of the inloroven~nt costs in Fiscal year 1988-89 and any additional costs over the progra~ned OCUT~ amount of $650,000. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Santa Ana has awarded the contract for the project on Bristol Street for $959,000. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Santa Ana has 1) designed the project improvements in accordance with the City's design standards; 2) acquired right-of-way for the project in conformmnce with the City's policies and procedures; and 3) cc~01eted and certified all required environmental doct~nen- tation for the project. RESOLUTION NO. 89-068 PAGE TWO 377 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the remaining ten (10) percent in OCUTT funds will be transferred to the City of Santa Ana when constructic~ is completed and a final report on the project is accepted troy the Orange County Transporta- tion Co~ssion. The City of Santa Ana agrees to sulm%it the final report to the Orange County Transportation CoRm%ission w~ttkin ninety (90) days after the City's acceptance of the in~rove~,ents.
