A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ALLOW, COMPROMISE OR SETTLE
WORKERS' COMPENSATION CLAIMS UP TO
$10,000 MAXIMUM

WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is permissably self-
insured for Workers' Compensation pursuant to the provisions of
Sections 3700 et seq. of the California Labor Code; and
WHEREAS, California Government Code ~ 935.4 allows
the city council of a charter city to authorize an employee of
the city to allow, compromise or settle claims not exceeding
$10,000 against the city; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to authorize the
City Manager, with the advice and consent of the City Attorney,
to allow, compromise or settle workers' Compensation claims
against the City of Santa Ana in amounts not exceeding $10,000.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SANTA ANA as follows:
1. The City Manager of the City of Santa Ana, or his
or her authorized delegate, is authorized to allow, compromise
or settle claims made under the Workers' Compensation laws of
the State of California against the City of Santa Ana in amounts
not exceeding $10,000.
2. Prior to exercising the authority hereby given, the
City Manager shall secure the advice and consent of the City At-
torney.
