A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA
REQUESTING THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION CC~MISSION TO
ALLOCATE ORANGE COUM~Y UNIFIED TRANSPORTATION TRUST (OCUTT)
FUNDS FOR A SEVEN IN'±'~xSECTION SIGNAL COORDINATION PROJECT
AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF GRAND AVENUE AT HOTEL T~tRACE DRIVE
AND SOUTHBOUND ROUTE 55 OFF-R~MP; AND THE INTERSECTIONS OF
DYER ROAD AT TECHNICAL C~ DRIVE, SOUTHBOUND ROUTE 55
ON-RAMP/HOTEL TERRACE DRIVE, GRAND AVENUE, NORTHBOUND
ROUTE 55 OFF-RAMP, AND PULLMAN AVENUE
WHEREAS, Chapter 1512, Statues of 1985 allows the Orange County Trans-
portation Commission to allocate funds from the rapid transit reserve to local
agencies for the improvement, construction, or repair of local streets and
roads; and
WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Commission approved a $4.5
million OCUTT Streets and Roads Program for Fiscal Year 1989-1990; and
WHEREAS, the program includes $25,000 in Fiscal Year 1989-1990 for a
seven-signal interconnect and coordination project at the intersections of
Grand Avenue at Hotel Terrace Drive and Southbound Route 55 Off-rsmp; and the
intersections of Dyer Road at Technical Center Drive, Southbound Route 55 On-
ramp/Hotel Terrace Drive, Grand Avenue, Northbound Route 55 Off-ramp, and
Pullman Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Santa Aha hereby requests the Orange County Transportation Commission allocate
$0.00 for construction engineering and $13,155.75 for construction for a total
of $13,155.75 in OCU~i~ funds to the City. This request is in conformance with
the OCUTT allocation process and does not exceed ninety (90) percent of the
progra~ned amount for construction engineering or ninety (90) percent of the
OCUTT share of the construction contract.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Santa Ana has agreed to fund
its share of the improvement costs in Fiscal Year 1989-1990 and any additional
costs over the programmed OCUTT amount of $25,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Santa Aha has awarded the con-
tract for the project on June 18, 1990, for $29,235.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Santa Ana has (1) designed the
project improvements in accordance with the City's design standards, (2)
acquired right-of-way for the project in conformance with the City's policies
and procedures, and (3) completed and certified all required environmental
documentation for the project.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the retaining ten (10) percent in OCUIT
funds will be transferred to the City of Santa Ana when construction is com-
pleted and a final report on the project is accepted by the Orange County
Transportation Commission. The City of Santa Ana agrees to submit the final
report to the Orange County Transportation Commission within ninety (90) days
after the City's acceptance of the improvements.
