RESOLUTION NO. 92-014
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA ANA APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF THE
SANTA ANA ENTERPRISE ZONE APPLICATION.
WHEREAS, the city of Santa Ana has reviewed
relative to the California Enterprise Zone Program,
Legislation; and
information
under 1989
WHEREAS, the city of Santa Ana recognized that 50% of the
eligible areas in the county are located in Santa Ana; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has determined that the
application containing the Enterprise Zone Area is acceptable and
appropriate; and
WHEREAS, the city of Santa Ana has determined the
Commercial and Industrial areas are within reasonable commuting
distance of the eligible area and will be a benefit to those
individuals living in the eligible area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has made a finding that
the application area is a depressed area, and that designation of
the application area as an enterprise zone is necessary in order to
attract private sector investment to the application area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has already initiated an
aggressive economic development program to stimulate employment
base for Santa Ana area residents; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Aha is committed to marketing
the Enterprise Zone if final designation is received; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana has agreed to coordinate
activities and implement programs to market the Enterprise Zone;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana is committed to fund
implementation if designated an Enterprise Zone; and
WHEREAS, the City of Santa Ana agrees to complete all
actions stated within the preliminary and final applications which
apply to its jurisdiction should the application be awarded
conditional designation.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SANTA ANA:
1. The Council approves the submittal of the preliminary
application which includes a Zone area in the city;
2. The geographic description of the Zone to be included in
the application, Section II will be in accordance with regulations
as set forth in the Enterprise Zone Application Handbook.
